In der vergangenen Woche bestritt Yann Mabella ein Probetraining beim SV Waldhof Mannheim und stand bei beiden bisherigen Testspielen auf dem Rasen. Hierbei wusste der 27-jährige Mittelstürmer zu überzeugen, weshalb dem fünfmaligen Nationalspieler der Republik Kongo ein Vertragsangebot vorgelegt wurde. Dieses unterzeichnete der in Toulouse und somit auch im Besitz der französischen Staatsbürgerschaft, geborene Offensivspieler nach überstandenem Medizincheck.
